Leisure and lifestyle theory and practice is simply explained, including implementation methods for Australian Aged Care Quality Standards and legislation. It explores current research into the benefits of 7 key elements of lifestyle facilitation as well as many hands-on practical ways to apply it. The 7Cs are: showing we Care, effective 2-way Communication, Connection with others both within and outside the facility, resident Control over their lifestyle, the importance of options for Challenge and Creativity and opportunities to make a Contribution. Further chapters focus on other key aspects of this role, including facilitating groups and one-on-one sessions.
