The Father's business is unlike any other business. His business is the one enterprise that surpasses and supercedes all others. There is no comparison to another, because His kingdom in on a different plane, a different planet, a different world, and a different universe. The kingdom of God, of which every believer in a part, holds a place in time and history and importance that every other kingdom, past, present, and future pales in comparison. As a son of God, we have inherited His Business. In heir inherits his father's wealth and assets, but he also inherits the father's business - to carry it on. It is God's will for us to inherit more than His benefits, but also to inherit His business. It is a selfish and irresponsible son who wants to inherit the estate and wealth of the father without assuming the responsibilities of the business. The only purpose for us as sons of God is to fulfill and complete His mission -- His business. He took our place in His death at Calvary. Jesus' words at the early age of 12 should challenge us as sons of God: "I must be about my father's business. And it is God's will for us to spend the few days of the Church Age completing His mission, His business, and His work that He exampled and defined for us in His brief ministry on earth. Fulfilling the Father's business will involve stepping into the two purposes for which God created man: Relationship - God and Man sharing a mutual commitment of love, communication, and trust. God and man relationship roles include: Father/Child; Groom/Bride; Friend/Friend. Relationship in the major theme of Volume I. Dominion - God sharing His authority and power with man to fulfill His mission and purpose, and to do His will and work on earth. God's decision to do nothing on earth through man created a valid relationship of mutual need in which God would need man and man would need God.

This book addresses the subject of dominion and why we need to be involved in the mission, will, and work of the Father's business. Dominion involves God sharing His authority and power with man to fulfill His mission and purpose, and to do His will and work on earth. Our Heavenly Father is the Great Physician and it is His will for us as sons of God to be a physician healing the hurting of our generation. Other God and man dominion roles include: Commander-In-Chief / Soldier, King of Kings / Prince, Lord of the Harvest / Harvester. God has chosen to do nothing on earth except through man. He is depending on you -- He is depending on me. Our Heavenly Father is: It is His will for us as sons of God to be: The Great Physician, the great healer of the complete man: body, soul and spirit. A physician healing the hurting of our generation. The Commander-In-Chief in the war against Satan and sin. A soldier engaging in spiritual warfare against the kingdom of Satan. The King of Kings, the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent ruler of the universe. A prince serving in His kingdom with dominion over the prince of this world, Satan. The Great High Priest, the great intercessor that once and for all offered the atoning sacrifice for our sins. A priest, a holy man, an anointed man to serve as an intercessor to His lost world. The Lord of the Harvest A laborer in His harvest field. The Great Commander is Calling His Soldiers to Arms to fight against the forces of evil that are set in array against the purpose and mission of the church. The kingdom of Satan has issued its challenge to the church. What will be our response? The Great High Priest is Calling for Intercessors. It is His will for us to be an intercessor (a go-between) ministering to the needs of this generation, reconciling the world unto Christ. The Great Physician is Calling for Caregivers The world is full of people dying from the disease of sin, crying out in their despair and hopelessness, desperately in need of caregivers that have a relationship with the Great Physician. The Lord of the Harvest is Calling for laborers to work in the harvest, just before the sun sets forever on the harvest field. The Father's harvest business is labor intensive; it depends on laborers.

For Bishop Aaron Williams, his journey has been about finding purpose, meaning, and a calling in his life. In My Father’s Business: A Memoir of Purpose and Revelation, he shares his story in order to pay respect to his forefathers and to provide his children with a written record of his life and their heritage. This memoir details the critical, destiny-making moments of Williams’s life, providing a narrative of how he developed a relationship with Christ driven by inspiration and in spite of religious dogma. Recalling his childhood in Sweeny, Texas; his service in the US Navy; his family; and his ministry, My Father’s Business: A Memoir of Purpose and Revelation shows how Christ revealed his purpose for Williams’s life through a personal relationship with him—a connection that has nothing to do with religion and denominations and everything to do with knowing Christ. A collection of one man’s remembered experiences and emotions, this written record delivers the message that through Christ all things are possible.

Many of the millions of born-again Christians worldwide are unsure of Gods will for their lives. Designed to spiritually enlighten born-again believers and lost souls, My Fathers Business offers divine guidance that will help spiritual seekers to carry out the Lords calling. Teacher and Author Elder Dwayne Lopes is an ordained minister and the creator of an award-winning local Christian television program. He relies upon practical spiritual truths and natural answers found in the Bible in order to provide spiritual direction for those who want to serve God faithfully. Elder Lopes begins by sharing the story of Jeremiah, a weeping prophet, who often showers his Old Testament prophecies in tears of compassion, yet acknowledges Gods great compassions and mercies are new every morning, for great is Gods faithfulness. He also shares through the life example of the disciples in the New Testament by teaching others on how to receive gifts from God through waiting, fasting, and prayer. Elder Lopes continues to promote and educate spiritual awareness and growth by highlighting the work of several Old Testament prophets who taught valuable lessons about the Word of God, the Afterlife, Repentance, and Gods will for their lives as well as our lives. Since the Bible declares many are called, and few are chosen, Elder Lopes believes many people are called by God like many are called by telemarketers, survey-takers, and bill collectors over the phone. However, Gods call and his gifts are irrevocable and his call to live the life he intended for us to have should always be answered by saying Yes to his will. For few are chosen by God to lead, but many are called by God to serve as laborers to help those in leadership as well as others in the world. This book is written and geared not for the few, but for the many plus the spiritual leadership of wisdom offered in My Fathers Business will help the many eager followers on their own journeys to both discover and live the will of our heavenly Father. Elder Lopes is not only an ordained minister who was the former host of the local, award-winning Christian television program The Light of the World, Armor Men of God, but he also obtained his Bachelors degree in Pastoral Leadership Ministry from Ohio Christian University in Circleville, Ohio. He is now pursuing his Masters degree in Practical Theology, plus he and his family currently lives in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

Jesus was also about His Father's business. It was the only plan that made sense to Him and the one for which He would give His life. As an adult, He knew hard work, sleepless nights, and hunger. He was homeless and a man of sorrows, yet always rejoicing. He was poor, yet made many rich. As Jesus told the young man on the road to Jerusalem, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head" (Luke 9:58). By the common measurements of man, Jesus' earthly life was a failure; "though He was rich, yet for your sakes, He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich" (2 Cor. 8:9). However, no man can be said to have had a greater influence. "And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him" (Hebrews 5:9)Jesus' life was spent doing nothing but contributing to the most significant business the world has ever known...His Father's! It took a long time, but I eventually came to appreciate and understand the importance of dedicating my life's work to God. Today, I happily work for both of my fathers-my earthly father and my Heavenly Father. It is a business I would not trade for anything. Looking back, I see now that in the moments where I thought we had nothing, we truly possessed everything. My father knew. It was his business to know, and nothing could beat it out of him. This is my story of picking up his business.

The subtitle of this book is "Pick up the Mission, Then Drop the Mic." This book walks you through the life of Christ with a primary focus on the book of Luke in the Bible. It provides wisdom from Jesus' life as He lived out Our Father's business. Although this book is divided by topic, it largely maintains the chronology of events as they are captured in the book of Luke. The inspiration for this book came as result of many personal experiences. Being about our Father's business is bigger than any title in life. Professionally, I am an entrepreneur, an adjunct instructor, an attorney, a board director and officer, and many other titles. Personally, I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a poet, an athlete. We all have many titles, but above all of these, there is a business, a mission, we have each been assigned to carry out. This book is written to remind and encourage you and me to "pick up the mission, then drop the mic." Picking up the mission refers to "bear[ing] [your] cross, and com[ing] after [Christ]." Dropping the mic refers to when a speaker or artist is on a stage, and says something so profound and final, leaving nothing else to be said afterwards. This is how our lives should be lived "" with such profundity that when our time on this earth is over, we can say, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith," our physical death being our "drop the mic" moment. The specific challenges we face in deciding to answer God's call on our lives will be different for each of us. Some of the most difficult decisions will be choices between good (our plans) and best (God's plans for us). It is my prayer that you read this book and "pick up the mission" so that at the end of your life, you can "then drop the mic!" Click here to access the author's website!

Volume 28 Sermons 1637-1697 Charles Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s foremost prolific writers. Called the “Prince of Preachers,” he was one of England's most notable ministers for most of the second half of the nineteenth century, and he still remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations today. His sermons have spread all over the world, and his many printed works have been cherished classics for decades. In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to more than 10 million people, often up to ten times each week. He was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was an inexhaustible author of various kinds of works including sermons, commentaries, an autobiography, as well as books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Spurgeon was known to produce powerful sermons of penetrating thought and divine inspiration, and his oratory and writing skills held his audiences spellbound. Many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature. Edward Walford wrote in Old and New London: Volume 6 (1878) quoting an article from the Times regarding one of Spurgeon’s meetings at Surrey: “Fancy a congregation consisting of 10,000 souls, streaming into the hall, mounting the galleries, humming, buzzing, and swarming—a mighty hive of bees—eager to secure at first the best places, and, at last, any place at all. After waiting more than half an hour—for if you wish to have a seat you must be there at least that space of time in advance—Mr. Spurgeon ascended his tribune. To the hum, and rush, and trampling of men, succeeded a low, concentrated thrill and murmur of devotion, which seemed to run at once, like an electric current, through the breast of every one present, and by this magnetic chain the preacher held us fast bound for about two hours. It is not my purpose to give a summary of his discourse. It is enough to say of his voice, that its power and volume are sufficient to reach every one in that vast assembly; of his language, that it is neither high-flown nor homely; of his style, that it is at times familiar, at times declamatory, but always happy, and often eloquent; of his doctrine, that neither the 'Calvinist' nor the 'Baptist' appears in the forefront of the battle which is waged by Mr. Spurgeon with relentless animosity, and with Gospel weapons, against irreligion, cant, hypocrisy, pride, and those secret bosom-sins which so easily beset a man in daily life; and to sum up all in a word, it is enough to say of the man himself, that he impresses you with a perfect conviction of his sincerity.” More than a hundred years after his death, Charles Spurgeon’s legacy continues to effectively inspire the church around the world. For this reason, Delmarva Publications has chosen to publish the complete works of Charles Spurgeon.

The Christological formulas - God, Savior, Messiah, Lord, King, High Priest - often run the risk of obliterating Jesus' humanity. Joseph, Mary, Jesus, concentrating on the years of Jesus' childhood, sets into full relief his humanity. Jesus appears here "familiarly" as a child. Mary is presented in her relationship to the child Jesus and in her role as initiator of Jesus' piety. The themes of her Magnificat are developed in Jesus' preaching. Joseph is nearly forgotten in salvation history. Here he appears for what he was in the tradition of the time, the head of the Holy Family and the one responsible for the formation - including the religious formation - of his child.
